Privacy policy
How Dretsa handles data in each operating mode.
Controller and scope
Dretsa is an application by Louis-Philippe Le Sieur. For privacy, access, correction or deletion requests, contact [email protected]. Last updated: November 3, 2026.
The initial public release is for adults aged 18 and over in Canada. This policy covers the Dretsa app and the publisher-operated hosted pilot. If you connect your own server, its operator controls the data entrusted to it and determines its retention practices.
Phone mode, without a Dretsa account
Phone mode requires neither a Dretsa account nor a publisher-operated server. Conversations, proposals, settings and internal documents stay in the app’s storage. Permissions allow access to selected calendars, reminders, contacts, photos and folders. Originals remain in the Apple apps or selected folders; iCloud synchronization and device backups depend on your Apple settings.
Personal AI keys and configured mail credentials are stored in the iPhone secure keychain. Local files and caches may be included in device backups, depending on device settings.
Artificial intelligence
On-device AI uses Apple Intelligence on compatible devices when available. An error or unavailable local model never automatically switches to an online provider.
If you select OpenAI, xAI or a compatible provider using your own API key, Dretsa requires explicit consent before transmission. Requests, context necessary for the requested action and selected attachments are sent directly to that provider. Its terms, processing locations, retention practices and any fees apply. Switching back to on-device AI stops future transmissions; it does not retroactively erase data already received by the provider.
Proposed changes require review and confirmation. AI output may be incorrect and is not medical, legal or financial advice.
Permissions and communication
Camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendars, reminders, location, motion, Bluetooth and NFC depend on permission and available hardware. They are used for selected functions. Speech recognition and Apple services may process data under their own settings and policies.
Dretsa cannot read SMS/iMessage history. It can prepare a message in Apple’s interface, where you decide whether to send it. Configured mail accounts connect to your selected provider using secure IMAP/SMTP; sending requires confirmation.
Notifications and Live Activities can show content on the lock screen. You control their display in the app and iPhone settings.
Personal servers and hosted pilot
Server mode transmits credentials, events, tasks, contacts, documents, conversations and requests needed for enabled features to the HTTPS address you explicitly choose. The server can store account identifiers, email addresses, notification device tokens and operational information. Shared household data remains accessible to its members according to the configured service.
Jarvis personalization using activity, home presence and wake-up time is optional and off by default. Wake-up sharing also requires Health permission. This data is not used for advertising. The personal server’s behaviour service applies a rolling 30-day window when processing records.
Hosted Dretsa remains a free invitation-only pilot. Features and operator are identified before signup. It does not automatically replace phone mode or silently migrate local data. The downloadable server package is a technical preview for users able to administer their installation.
Retention, deletion and rights
In phone mode, use the relevant deletion and trash functions and provider settings to remove access. Disconnecting a folder does not delete its originals. Uninstalling removes the local app container; synchronized Apple data, external backups and keychain items may require separate management in Apple or provider settings.
For a compatible server account, open More → Privacy and data → Delete my account (currently labelled in French). Submit the in-app request with confirmation and the server password. Account access is revoked when the request is recorded. The operator completes personal-data erasure within 30 days and handles corresponding backups; the app provides a tracking reference. Data belonging to other members and external originals are preserved. The requester’s personal content is included in erasure even if shared. The in-app tracker shows completion without signing in again. For a single-owner hosted household, deletion includes that household’s data.
Any applicable legal retention requirements are communicated to the person concerned. Contact [email protected] to exercise your rights or report a problem. For a personal server, contact its operator; the Dretsa publisher does not automatically have access to it.
No advertising and website
The app has no advertisements or cross-app advertising tracking. Data is not sold. Optional functional personalization is separate from advertising tracking.
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website, processing technical information such as IP addresses and requests to provide, secure and measure the site. Contacting support transmits the information you include through the mail services used to handle your request. Never send passwords or API keys to support.
Policy changes
Changes are published here with an updated date. A policy change alone does not enable a new use that requires consent.
